Three 60m pedestrian footbridges at the base of The Henderson.

Eckersley O’Callaghan is providing integrated structural and facade engineering for a high-profile extension to Hong Kong’s elevated walkway network in Central, seamlessly connecting it to a significant new office development. These long span bridge structures at the base of The Henderson will introduce a new, modern architectural language to the existing, characteristic fabric of the city.

Supported by discrete column locations, the bridge steelwork navigates through and interfaces precisely with the new office. The complex double-curved stainless-steel cladding system, crafted by Kikukawa in Japan, is fully integrated with the steel deck and roof structure, meeting tight zoning requirements while serving as the main access to the building from the Mass Transit Railway.
